What are the aspects to consider to design effective office lighting?
Silvia Perego, professional lighting designer and founder of the IN-VISIBLE lab studio (www.in-visiblelab.it) explains practical rules to be taken into consideration to create correct office lighting. You expect a more fluid use of space and a consequent more flexible lighting vision, respectful of the technical parameters dictated by the regulations: a more dynamic “here and now”, in line with the biological and economic needs of the workers.
'The present moment leads us to new reflections, the COVID experience has led us to hybrid spaces.
We lived our work experience in domestic spaces, with lighting fixtures that we never would have imagined for our workspaces'
What happened cannot fail to generate a change, cannot fail to ask the world of light for an important, concrete, and evolutionary reflection.
Here are the key terms to consider in a future design process:
NEEDS - listen to space, observe needs, differentiate needs, take care of visual comfort, pay attention to the user, flexibility of spaces, identify areas of visual task, pay attention to internal areas but also to external spaces (which have become today operating locations)
DIFFERENTIATE - evaluate hybrid areas, temporary workspaces, relaxation areas (today more and more daily workspaces)
TECHNIQUE - Internet of Things, maintenance aspects, components, identification of scenarios, use of sources with good Color Rendering Index, pay maximum attention to the efficiency parameters of the system
DYNAMIC - evaluate use of Tunable white, indirect light, differentiation of emissions
REGULATIONS - compliance with UNI EN12464-1: 2011 standards, attention to LEED - WELL - BREAM certificationsì
