3F Filippi lights up the luxurious yachts of Pershing - Ferretti Group

All over the world Pershing stands for italian excellence in the nautical field. Its luxury yachts are the pride of the industry, thanks to the absolute quality of their design and applied high technologies.
Due to the worldwide prestige of this Ferretti Group's company, the light design provided for the factory in Mondolfo (Ancona) was one of the most challenging for 3F Filippi. The contract included an integral action in two production yards to both increase the energetic and lighting performances. For this work 3F Filippi applied the 3F LEM 3 210 Ampio light fitting, a device made of die-cast aluminum and developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Bologna.

The choice proved successful, as it has allowed to comprehensively improve each performance, while adopting a significantly smaller quantity of products. In fact, whereas before there were a total of 420 430W metal halide light fittings to illuminate the two production areas, following the intervention, those installed have been about half of them (209).

Given the best performance, the 3F LEM 210 Ampio were installed with a herringbone layout on the already existing tracks inside the production yards, with a 5% increase and, at the same time, an overall 512 kWh decrease of the annual energy consumption (one went from 705 to 193), and an estimated savings of about 90,000 euros. Though consumption is an important factor, this is not the only element considered by a company such as Pershing when approving a lighting design. The high precision required in each stage of production, from the assembly of engines to the creation of the yachts' refined interiors, makes a uniform lighting fundamental, in order to enable workers to work with the utmost care of every single detail.

Also from this point of view, the solution proposed by 3F Filippi fully satisfied the expectations of Pershing, by keeping the same average of 600 lux on the work station already achieved with the previous project and improving the uniformity of the illumination. In addition, to allow the Mondolfo technicians to work very accurately also during the boats varnishing operation, 3F Filippi is now managing to relamp the dedicated area, by increasing the already installed 3F Beta 4x light fittings performance by equipping them with the latest generation of LED sources, whose 6.500K color temperature enables to find even the smallest inaccuracy during the working.
