In office environments, light quality is also measured by its degree of glare. Luminance control optics are designed to limit the luminance of the light fixture in the most critical directions of the field of vision, reducing glare and improving comfort, productivity and well-being.

Luminance control optics: the heart of 3F HD OC

The European standard EN 12464-1 is the benchmark for interior design, specifying the following for offices:

Maximum recommended UGR: < 19 for offices, schools and meeting rooms; UGR ≤16 for critical tasks (e.g. CAD).
Luminance limit at 45°: < 2,500 cd/m² for workstations with a 'positive' screen (light background), and < 1,500 cd/m² for more demanding tasks (CAD, graphics).

3F HD's OC (Optic Control) optics are an example of technical excellence at the service of workers. These optics are available in OCW (White) and OCB (Black) versions and are designed to drastically reduce glare levels, making the product appear to be switched off, while still ensuring unparalleled illuminance levels.

These same optics are also LEED compliant, offering designers a solution that reaches a luminance limit of 45° < 200 cd/m².
