Related colour temperature: the secret to transforming any room
Industrial warehouses, production plants, large offices, as well as retail outlets and homes: in all these contexts, the choice of lighting is always guided by a fundamental parameter, colour temperature. This parameter not only affects the perceived colour rendering, but also influences essential factors such as visual comfort and user productivity.

What is Colour Temperature (CCT)?
Correlated Colour Temperature (CCT) represents the hue of light emitted by a light source, expressed in Kelvin (K). It is the parameter that determines the perception of light as warm, neutral or cold.

  • 2700K: Warm light, with a yellow-orange hue, typical of incandescent sources.
  • 4000K: Neutral light, with a natural white colour, often used in representative environments or workspaces.
  • 6500K: Cold light, tending to blue, commonly used in medical or dental settings where high visibility of details is required.

The choice of colour temperature is not just a matter of aesthetic preference, but also greatly influences operational parameters such as concentration, visual comfort and reduced eye fatigue. For example, a colour temperature between 4000K and 5000K tends to boost productivity and reduce the perception of fatigue, making these sources ideal for high-precision environments such as production lines or technical laboratories.

How to choose the right CCT?
The choice of the optimal colour temperature depends on the specific functional requirements of the environment:

  • Warehouses and storage areas: A CCT of 4000K is recommended to ensure adequate visibility without causing eye fatigue.
  • Operating theatres and dental environments: In these contexts, a CCT above 5000K is preferable, to ensure high concentration and optimal sharpness of details.
  • Offices and residential environments: In these spaces, a colour temperature between 2700K and 4000K favours a comfortable and cosy atmosphere, improving general well-being.

Dynamic solutions: Tunable White LED technology
With the latest LED technologies, such as Tunable White, it is possible to dynamically adjust the CCT according to operational needs or the environment. These systems, available in 3F Filippi products, offer essential flexibility for dynamic working environments.
